No car – no problem
Not that you now believe that you absolutely have to take your car with you for your holiday in “das fuchshaus”, because you think that Viehhofen is in the middle of nowhere, where there is not even public transport. The next bus stop is only a few meters, i.e. a fox’s jump, from the “das fuchshaus” chalet and the nice bus drivers will be happy to take you to Saalbach Hinterglemm or Zell am See or wherever the bus has its final destination. As I said, no car - no problem! ... and you are also doing something good for the environment if you leave your cars either at home or in the parking lot in front of "das fuchshaus".
ATTENTION, SPOILER ALERT!! From autumn 2024 there will be a brand new TRAIN STATION in Maishofen! So you can take the TRAIN until just before "das fuchshaus" and then hop on the BUS for a short 5 minutes journey and you're there <3 we love CLIMATE-NEUTRAL ARRIVAL!

Choose your path to the „das fuchshaus” wisely
By car:
... you simply enter "Uferweg 228", "5752 Viehhofen", "Federal State of Salzburg", State of "Austria" into your GPS and follow the instructions of the friendly voice.
By train:
Arrive at the train station in Zell am See or the train station in Saalfelden, continue your journey by public bus to the “Förstereck” stop or you can check out a taxi, which will take you to Viehhofen very easily. SPOILER ALERT 2.0: TRAIN STATION MAISHOFEN SAALBACH NEW from autumn 2024!!!!
By plane:
Arrive at Salzburg or Munich airport, onward travel to Saalbach Hinterglemm, ideally by a comfortable holiday shuttle – please make a RESERVATION beforehand! If you missed this, see "by train" or check out a rental car and follow the instructions under "by car"!
On foot:
... we haven't had this case yet. A hiking map would certainly be recommended for this :P
